Out and About

Photo of Out and About

As we begin to live missionally, we find ourselves trying things we have never tried before. We find ourselves uncomfortable, challenged, and in situations where we can’t predict the outcome. As you begin to explore living missionally, you will learn to embrace new challenges and ideas. - The purpose of this small group is to help you develop a “Beginner’s Mind” – a mind that is willing to embrace the unpredictable, the uncomfortable, and the new. - Your assignment is to go to lunch with just your spouse or your friend and one other couple. Find someone else with an Out and About Passport. Pick a restaurant that neither of you have previously visited. The object is to visit all of the restaurants in the Passport. From there, we challenge you to complete the following tasks. Be bold. Take risks. Try something new. - Give words of encouragement to one restaurant staff member and find out one fact about him or her. - While at lunch, ask to speak to the manager in order to compliment an employee. - While at lunch, ask your server how you can pray for him/her. Include that request in your prayer before your meal. - Have your server sign your passport at the bottom of the restaurants page. - Take time to reflect on this adventure with your group. - Enjoy your adventure. Enjoy walking Onsite with Insight as you go Out and About in the community! May God continue to bless you in The Journey.
